I have a friend who recently renovated his kitchen. In choosing his appliances, he concentrated on finding electronics that were both stylish and energy efficient. He replaced everything including the dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven, and stove top. After doing some research he chose an induction stove. I don’t know very much about them, but I know he has since discovered that a lot of his cookware won’t be appropriate for his new stove top. Little by little he’s been updating and upgrading his kitchenware. Surprisingly, he’s had a hard time finding a good griddle that would work in his new kitchen. Then he came across thisClassicor Stainless Steel Induction Compatible Nonstick Griddle and started using it as soon as it arrived.

At twelve inches inches in diameter, the griddle is a good size for making pancakes, eggs, and more. This induction compatible nonstick griddle comes with a high-domed window lid that allows you to fry you favorite foods without getting messy splatter on your stove. The griddle is made, high quality 18/10 stainless steel with an encapsulated aluminum core bottom for even heat distribution. This quality cookware piece is even protected by manufacturer’s 25 year limited warranty.

Bread is one of my favorite foods. To me, there’s nothing quite like the simple treat of enjoying a slice of warm, fresh bread slathered in butter with breakfast or dinner. Or a large loaf of crusty bread sliced open and baked with butter and garlic and spices, served with a dish of delicious pasta. I don’t imagine I’d ever want to give it up! You can get a lot of great breads in the bakery section of the grocery store, but there is nothing quite like the taste of homemade bread. And with the Oster ExpressBake Bread Maker, you can have a fresh loaf ready in less than an hour.

This versatile bread machine can be adjusted to make various size breads from a small one pound loaf to a larger family-size two pound bread. The eighteen settings and three crust selections allow you to make many of your favorite breads with just the right golden finish. The simple three-step programming can cook a loaf in 58 minutes. Plus the 13 hour delay bake timer lets you set up the bread machine so you can come home to a hot loaf of bread at the end of the work day or wake up to the smell of bread baking for breakfast. This attractive oval bread machine features a glass window for viewing, a cool-touch exterior and a non-stick bread pan for easy bread release and easy cleaning.

If you’ve ever thought Minestrone soup was complicated to make, try this simple and classic crock pot Minestrone. The ingredients are mostly pantry items. I usually have most of the items on hand, but I make sure that I buy small, fresh zucchini and carrots. I don’t like to use baby carrots in most soup recipes. Baby carrots are fine for snacking, but I think the regular, full sized carrots have more flavor. But, like any great recipe for Minestrone, the real flavor is in the herbs. Don’t skimp on the oregano or basil and be sure your herbs are not old.

This is one of those great crock pot recipes to make a day ahead of time, like when you know you’re going to have one of those hectic nights driving kids around after school and between activities. Then, when you get home, just cook up the macaroni, add it and the Parmesan cheese according to the recipe. Heat through and dinner is ready in minutes! Now you can get on with the evening… you know, all those glorious things like homework, baths, and stories. Then, maybe if you’re not too exhausted, a little time for Mom and Dad.

My sister recently moved into her first home and I’m so happy for her. She’d been living in multiple roommate apartment for the last few years since she graduated and she was finally able to get her own place. During those years she’d accumulated quite an eclectic collection of kitchenware, some wonderful items and some not so wonderful pieces. One of the things she enjoys doing the most is baking – she says she finds it restful after a hectic day. So for a housewarming gift I’ve decided I’m going to buy her something she is long overdue for is a handy set of stainless steel mixing bowls.

I decided to go with stainless steel because of their lasting durability and ease of use. Revere, a well-respected name in kitchenware makes this set, so I felt very confident in the quality. I also like the fact that these bowls came with matching covers, so my sister can use them for mixing and food storage. They also nest inside each other, so they won’t hog up a lot of space in her cabinet. I just know my sister will get lots of use out of these kitchen mixing bowls.

It might not be the healthiest thing to admit, but I love to fry food. A lot of other people still enjoy frying food too, although often they’ll refer to it as sautéeing or stove top cooking. Whatever cooking method it’s called, the real secret to great frying is in the frying pan. In our family, the pan of choice is, and has always been a cast iron frying pan. Cast iron frying pans are sturdy enough to allow you to cook just about anything and they conduct heat evenly, which prevents hot spots from forming in your food. My favorite pan by far is my new enameled cast iron fry pan from Kinetic.

Not all cast iron fry pans are created equal. While I still love some of my ancient, solid black pans that have fried up generations of chickens, I’m also concerned about the healthiness of the food I prepare. That’s why I love this new cast iron fry pan with its nonstick finish. It makes it super easy to prepare healthy versions of old family favorites. These new pans come in fun colors too & look great in the kitchen. Unlike other cast iron frying pans, this pan is dishwasher safe, which is a big bonus in a busy life. A frying pan that combines classic sensibility and modern convenience is a recipe for success in any kitchen!
